New York Red Bull have released forward John Wolyniec as they prepare for a third Designated Player.
The 33-year old will no longer be a Red Bull player and is hoping to continue his playing career elsewhere after being shipped out.
Club general manager Erik Soler wished Wolyniec all the best as he enters the next phase of his career.
"John is a true professional and a hard working player. We spoke to John about staying on with the club in another capacity but he expressed an interest in continuing on with his playing career. We wish him the best of luck in the future," Soler said.
Wolyniec joined the club in 2006 from LA Galaxy after having two previous stints with the Red Bulls when they were known as MetroStars.
