Wolves want Bruce as firefighter

Former Sunderland and Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce is wanted at Wolves.

The Sun says they want Bruce to rescue their season on a 13-match deal.

The Geordie, 51, is the front-runner to replace sacked Mick McCarthy and would have the remaining games to save the Molineux club from the drop.

Wolves are keen not to tie themselves to a long-term deal with Bruce as relegation is a real threat. They would prefer to take him on until the end of the season and then review the situation once their future becomes clear.
