Wolves have moved to trump Birmingham City for Coventry City defender Scott Dann.

The Birmingham Mail says Mick McCarthy's Premier League new boys are believed to have made a £4million move for the England Under-21 international, beating Blues to the much sought-after player.

Coventry confirmed yesterday that they had rejected an initial bid from Blues, which is understood to have involved the offer of Gary McShreffrey plus cash.
