Wolves are ready to spend big to sign Valencia fullback Joao Cancelo.

The Daily Mail says the Portugal international worked closely with coach Nuno Espirito Santo while the pair were at Valencia and credits the Wolves boss with playing a major part in his development.

Valencia want £35million for the 24-year-old who spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and has been considered by Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City in recent months. The 24-year-old can also cover at left-back.

Wolves also remain in discussions with Sporting Lisbon over the proposed transfer of goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
