Tommy Smith wants to stay with crisis club Portsmouth.

The former Watford striker has been linked with Wolves this month.

But Smith told The News: "While I've been out I've just been getting my head down, working hard, training hard and hoping to get my chance back in the team.

"Now I'm part of things again I will definitely be looking to try to take it. Everyone is pretty much being given a chance under the new manager and you have got to take your chance when you are out there.

"That's certainly what I'm going to try to do, so we'll see what happens."
