Kevin Doyle says he would love to take on England at next year's European Championships.
The Wolves striker helped Republic of Ireland qualify for the tournament to be held in Poland and Ukraine next summer with a 5-1 aggregate play-off win over Estonia and he hopes that the team can face off with England at some stage of the competition.
"You have to play them at some stage if you're to do well so why not?" he told Sky Sports.
"I have only ever watched Ireland play England. In my six years we have never played England, but watching as a kid Ireland always did well but I would prefer it to be a quarter-final rather than group stage."
