Wolves still in the hunt for quality striker
Wolves are still hunting for a quality striker to add to their thin line of firepower after missing out on a notable duo.
Chief executive Jez Moxey has confirmed the Wolverhampton club have missed out on Aston Villa’s Emile Heskey and Dutchman Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink who recently joined Austrian outfit Rapid Vienna.
"It's a 'no' on those two," said Moxey. "There probably won't be any developments until tomorrow [Tuesday], if anything at all. But we're still working on a possible incoming deal."
Wolves had started the season in bright fashion but manager Mick McCarthy wants desperately to bring in someone to help out Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher up front.
