Wolves skipper Henry mocks moaner Barton

Wolves captain Karl Henry has taunted Newcastle United rival Joey Barton after Saturday's 1-1 draw.

Henry appeared on a mission to intimidate Barton. He followed a series of fearsome tackles with a withering verbal blast.

"He (Barton) seems to think he's a bit of a player who puts his foot in. But I didn't see any of that from him. I saw him shoving players off the ball a lot.

"Me? I love getting stuck in. I enjoy these games. There wasn't too much quality, but I knew it was going to be physical with Alan Smith and him in there. I've got a lot of time for Smith. He was saying, 'Well done, good battle', and he loves it. He loves getting tackled as much as he tackles.

"I'm the same, I love a good honest tackle. I don't mind getting tackled, either. But Barton was in the ref's ear all the time and not happy about getting put to the floor.

"We'll have more of the same when we go up to their place. He was even whining at the end. Something was going on with our gaffer (Mick McCarthy), a lot of talk. And, as usual, nothing to back it up."

So because Henry mainly aimed at Barton, he's branded a ***** for trying to wind him up? Certainly not! It was one of, if not, the smartest thing to do, especially considering how quickly he throws his dolly out the pram. Fair play for him not rising to the bait, but still, he did whinge at a few people about it.

And another thing for the people who say Henry is a thug, and doesn't deserve to play....Seriously, *****. He showed nothing but passion during Saturday's game, unlike most other captains who simply wear the armband for show!

Couldn't have said it any better myself tbh...
I was very impressed with Joey Barton and think he may have turned a corner recently in becoming a better person as well as player like he and most of the Newcastle squad have reported... Although he still has a lot to do to prove that!

No, its not being upset with the tackles at all...
Its more being "annoyed" (completely incorrect use of speech marks like you used for "upset") that Henry has came out and moaned about Barton 'moaning'. I'm all for hard legal tackles in the game and believe that we don't see enough of them nowadays. However, I think that Henry should be applauding Barton to be honest because he got immediately back up after every tackle and got on with the game (which many foreign players wouldn't). Henry's main aim in that game was to try and get Barton wound up and sent off for a retaliation and after the game realising that Barton actually got the better of him in the game (by playing actual football) he released this immature statement to try to fool people into thinking Barton moans about hard tackles and that he in fact bettered Barton in the game.
