Wolves boss Mick McCarthy hopes to land Hull City winger Stephen Hunt for a cut-price deal.

The Mirror says McCarthy is in talks with Hull over a £3.5million deal for Hunt after having a £5million offer rejected in January.

The Wolves boss now holds the upper hand in the negotiations with the Tigers desperate to sell to reduce their debts and Hunt sidelined until October with a foot injury.

Hunt will join up with defender Steven Mouyokolo at Molineux, who is close to sealing his £2.5million switch from the KC Stadium.
