Wolves prepared for clear-out should League One beckon

Wolves boss Dean Saunders admits a host of players will be on their way out should the club drop into League One this weekend. And Saunders will hold a meeting with chairman Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey next week when Wolves' fate - either way - is decided.

"I'd imagine a lot of the players won't want to stay," the Welshman told the club's official website.

"They won't want to be playing in League One, so if that happens, we'll talk about it.

"Once we get through this week and get to the end of the season, we'll probably have a meeting - myself, Jez and the chairman - and we'll draw a plan up.

"Whether we're in the Championship or League One, we'll draw a plan up to make the club great again.

"That's what I want to do, but if we don't stay in the Championship, it will just take me a bit longer to do it. But at the moment we have to concentrate on Saturday because it might not happen.

"Let's just do what we can control and that's winning on Saturday."

Asked if he had already been approached by any of his players intimating a possible move, Saunders plied: "No. We haven't spoken about it."
