Newcastle United are interested in Wolves midfielder Dave Jones.
The Sunday Sun says Toon boss Alan Pardew sees Jones as an alternative to No1 transfer target Stephen Ireland, of Aston Villa.
Former Manchester United trainee Jones is valued at around £1.5million, can play in the centre of midfield or on the left.
He is out of contract at the end of the season.
