Wolves owner Steve Morgan is still backing manager Mick McCarthy.

The Daily Mail says Morgan shocked players after defeat to Liverpool by entering the dressing room to tell them a few home truths.

Morgan decided that someone other than McCarthy should be shouldering the burden for a dreadful run of two victories in the club's previous 21 fixtures.

The position of the manager himself is safe for now after Morgan sanctioned a deadline day loan move for Sebastian Bassong from Tottenham.
