Wolves O'Hara desperate to avoid a second successive relegation

Jamie O'Hara was on loan with Portsmouth last season when they were relegated into the Championship. The 24-year-old midfielder has now made the switch to Wolves - initially on loan but with a view to a permanent transfer - and scored his first goal for the club during yesterday's 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion.

Wolves are currently bottom of the pile and O'Hara does not want a repeat of last season.

O'Hara said: "We've got a better squad here than at Portsmouth. The team is better. We play better football. We create a lot more chances.

"But we've got to cut out the goals right at the death. I've played four games now and, in two, we've lost in the last minute.

"We can't give away goals like that. That is what happened at Portsmouth as well.

"We played well all season and we gave away goals at the death and in the end it is going to cost you so we've got to cut those out.

"We've got a lot of winnable games coming up and we've got to make it count."

He said: "The lads said to me 'if you score in this game, you can become a hero overnight with the fans'.

"It was great to get a fantastic goal and I hope I can keep putting in good performances for the team and give the fans something to be proud of at the end of the season.

"It is great to be welcomed by the club so well and hearing the fans chanting my name is fantastic.

"It would have great if the goal had earned us three points. It would have been even better."
