Wolves are making a late move for Aston Villa defender Zat Knight.

The Sunday Mercury says Wolves boss Mick McCarthy will have to see off Bolton Wanderers to land the centre-back, who is prepared to move on should he be pushed down the pecking by any new signings at Villa.

Wolves switched their attention to Knight, rated at about £3million, after missing out on Oguchi Onyewu.
