Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards insists the players are hurting as much as the fans over the table position.
Wolves are rock bottom after defeat at Norwich City on the weekend.
"We have definitely got to be doing better as a team at defending. It does [really hurt]. Obviously the fans came in their thousands and were brilliant. We know much it means to them, we know how much it means to the owners, the manager and everyone involved with the club.
"We try our best every week and sometimes the quality might not be there, but you can never kind of have a go at us for effort. We really want to keep this club in the Premier League and we will fight down to the wire.
"I know people say it is over for at the moment, but we are going to fight to the wire and hopefully do enough to keep up in the league."Edwards declared: "You create your own luck at times and I know we're not getting much at the moment, but we've got to be playing better and creating more chances.
