Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards is hoping to step up his return to action later this week. The Wales international is set to visit a specialist later this week about his injury and he is hoping he is given the green light to step up his recovery.

"I'm going to see the specialist again this week to see what the situation is and once we've had his advice hopefully I can crack on," Edwards told the club's official website.

"But it has started to get better the last week or so and we're hoping for good news from the specialist.

"If he gives me the okay I can crack on with my rehab and see how it goes.

"With any luck I won't be out for much longer.

"There are still a lot of games left and they are all going to be important.

"It will be nice to get back into the frame and hopefully get fit, first and foremost.

"Then it will be a case of trying to give the gaffer a selection headache when I am fit."
