Wolves have confirmed that on-loan defender Michael Mancienne has returned to Chelsea. The England Under-21 centre-half had been due to stay at Molineux until the end of January after extending his deal last week, but a spate of injuries at Stamford Bridge has prompted his recall.

He made 10 appearances for Wolves during his time with the Coca-Cola Championship leaders.
