Wolves know price for Leeds striker Beckford

Wolves must go to £2 million to land Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford.

The Mirror says Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is prepared to go as high as £1.5million for Leeds' 20-goal top scorer and is becoming impatient with the Elland Road club's refusal to compromise.

Wolves have also made an inquiry and Leeds have also told them the price remains £2million.

Leeds are determined they won't be short changed over Beckford - even if it means losing him for nothing when his contract expires in the summer.

They feel it will be worth it if he stays and helps fire them to promotion from League One.
