Wolves keeper Ikeme waits on Middlesbrough decision over loan deal

Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is currently on trial with ChampionshipMiddlesbrough and Boro boss Tony Mowbray will reach a decision over the weekend before deciding whether to take him on loan as cover for regular number one Jason Steele, who is expected to be out until October as he recovers from surgery on a broken wrist. The 25-year-old will be between the sticks for Boro in Friday night's pre-season friendly with PSV Eindhoven.

"We will play him and then make a decision over the weekend,'' revealed Mowbray to the Northern Echo.

"I have seen Carl play. He was at Wolves when I was at West Brom as manager so I know about him.

"Mick McCarthy still thinks he is a top goalkeeper even though he has had a few injuries and this is our chance to see.''
