Wolves keeper Hennessey on road to recovery

Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is getting set for a big summer of rehab following his serious knee injury.

The Wales international suffered a cruciate ligament injury in April and is not expected back until at least September but will be doing everything in his power to return to full fitness as soon as possible.

"On top of my programme with the physios I've been doing a lot of swimming, which is brilliant as it really gets the heart going," Hennessey told the club's official website.

"I've been doing a lot of work on my knee weights and getting the muscles firing around the knee so they don't lose too much strength.

"It can be lonely when you're coming in on your own in the summer, but it's certainly peaceful!

"I want the best for my knee and that is to come in and follow the programme from the physios, who are great to work with.

"You can have all their attention over the summer and they have given me a good schedule to follow."
