Wolves keeper Hahnemann: Whoever gets Hull winger Hunt stays up

Wolves goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann reckons whoever finishes with Hull City winger Stephen Hunt after today's transfer deadline will go a long way to beating the drop.

Hahnemann and Hunt, the subject of a £4million bid from the Molineux outfit, were team-mates at Reading until last summer.

And after being forced to pick Hunt's penalty out the back of his net, Hahnemann said: "Whichever club ends up with Stephen Hunt after 5pm on Monday will have a great chance of survival. He's someone you want in your side.

"I'm not saying the other side won't survive - but you'd want him around. Stephen and I never said a word to each other before the penalty.

"There are so many rumours about him joining Wolves but knowing Hunty there's no way it would affect him - I knew he would want to take it. Lesser players would have felt the pressure and crumbled but he struck it really well.

"He's one of those players you always want in your team instead of playing against you. We would love to have him at Wolves - he would be a great asset. Just look how well he played here.

"He works so incredibly hard, he's full of energy. If you need a role model for anyone, just watch how hard he keeps going for 90 minutes.

"And it's not just industry with him, there's a lot of quality as well. He doesn't let anything get him down.

"There were a couple of bad crosses he hit straight to me, but the next one was inch-perfect and that's typical of him."
