Wolves boss Mick McCarthy wants to bring back Hamburg defender Michael Mancienne.

The Daily Mail says Mancienne left Chelsea for Hamburg in the summer after spending two seasons on loan at Molineux.

Wolves have contacted the German club about taking the defender on loan but have been rebuffed.

However, McCarthy is still hopeful of completing a deal to bring the 22-year-old back to England until at least the end of the season.
