Wolves goalkeeper Murray recovering from knee surgery

Injury-prone Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray is in recovery following knee surgery and hopes to be back in action as soon as possible.

The 28-year old was injured when on loan with Hereford United last November but expects to be back within six weeks after his latest operation.

"I've been doing plenty of weights and putting plenty of hours in. It's constant work during the day with the pool and the weights and that," he told the club's official website.

"I can't complain. I want to get back, so I've got to put the work in. I was hoping to be ready for pre-season and join in with the boys.

"But I couldn't quite push on to the next level at the end of last season and went to see the specialist who said I needed a little bit more surgery.

"I had that done and have now gone past where I was and have started running.

"I've also been doing some handling work, but not taking off and diving because I need to do some more strength training and work on the explosive side of the game.

"The knee feels good and is looking good on the scans - the tendon looks nice and strong. "I see a specialist on August 18 and if all goes well, I could be out training with the boys in four to six weeks."
