Wolves fullback Kevin Foley has thanked manager Mick McCarthy for his support after winning his first cap for the Republic of Ireland.

"I haven't spoke to him since we finished the season, but he's said in the past that if I get the opportunity to get out there and play for Ireland and do what I do for Wolves and be relaxed and calm, I'll be fine," he said.

"He's a good manager to have and if anyone's going to give you advice, then he's the man to listen to."
