Wolves eyeing positive FA Cup run say Edwards

Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards believes a positive run in the FA Cup this season will help the club's Premier League plight.

The Molineux outfit meet Birmingham City in the third round of the competition on Saturday and Edwards is eyeing the start of a good run to assist in lifting them from 16th on the league table.

"We'd definitely like to do well in the FA Cup this year and winning breeds confidence in any competition," Edwards told Sky Sports.

"We had a decent run in the Carling Cup and it gave all the boys that featured a lift and that can only benefit the league campaign.

"The FA Cup is a great competition and one that everyone wants to do well in, so if we can put a run together we'd love to go all the way.

"Birmingham away is a tough first game, but we will go there full of confidence and keen to progress into the next round."
