Wolves Edwards grateful for second chance at Premier League

Dave Edwards missed the final three months of the season with a back injury and had to watch his team-mates remain in the top flight thanks to a cliff hanging end to the campaign. Edwards should be ready for pre-season and thanks his colleagues for another crack at Premiership football.

"I played in 15 games last season and think I did ok once I got my run in the team," Edwards told the club's official website.

"It has been frustrating with injuries though.

"Obviously the back injury which ruled me out at the end was the worst one but I had a few muscle injuries before that which may have been linked to it.

"I'm just glad I'll get the chance to have another crack at the Premier League because I would have been horrified not to have the opportunity again.

"I'm grateful to the other lads for managing to keep us in the league and hopefully I'll get another go next season.

"It has been hard because ask any player, when you're injured you don't feel part of it.

"And I felt I did well in my last game against Blackpool.

"I actually hurt my back after about half an hour but just thought it was stiff at the time and played on with it so to get through that much of the game was great.

"It was nice to play well but since then it's been a nightmare few months.

"I've just got to work hard now and hopefully be fit for pre-season. "It feels like it's getting better gradually.
