Wolves drop veteran defender Craddock from pre-season tour

Jody Craddock's future at Championship Wolves remains unclear after the 36-year-old was not included on the club's pre-season tour of Ireland next week. The experienced centre-back is out of contract this summer but has been involved in training at Compton as the club's squad gear up for the start of the new campaign.

New boss Stale Solbakken told the club's official website: "I have spoken to Jody and explained the situation after he asked how things were looking. We already have a number of central defenders battling for positions and I am also looking to bring in another.

"Jody won't be joining us at the first-team training camp in Ireland. However, this doesn't mean the door is completely closed and the club will continue discussions with him."

Craddock himself added: "The manager has been straight with me and told me how it is and the fact that I will not be in the squad which travels to Ireland. There's an opportunity now to consider my position, which could still include remaining with Wolves if all parties agree."
