Wolves defender Berra: Scotland players need to carry the burden

Scotland centre-half Christophe Berra is of the belief that the playing group must take the blame for recent poor results.

Manager Craig Levein has come under intense scrutiny following his side's start to World Cup qualifying which has yielded them just two points from three outings including a disastrous 2-1 loss to Wales on Friday after leading with just over ten minutes remaining.

Ahead of tonight's must-win encounter with Belgium in Brussels, Wolves star Berra says it is vital that the Scotland players are the ones who shoulder the blame as Levein looks to get things back on track for Brazil 2014.

"We're second bottom. It's not a great position to be in but we will look over the game and go to Belgium on Monday fully prepared for the game the next day," he said yesterday.

"They are a top team with world-class players but we have done it before.

"When we're down, we always seem to bounce back. We didn't play badly against Wales. Lady Luck just didn't go our way.

"At club level as well, you get beaten in one game and move on. Players are thick skinned. We're disappointed now but you can't dwell on the past."
