Wolves’ Craddock: New contract is a dream for me

Wolves veteran Jody Craddock admits getting a new contract with the club was like a dream for him.

The 34-year old defender has forced his way back into the first team at the Molineux after being loaned out a couple of seasons back but manager Mick McCarthy looks set to reward him with another contract in the summer.

Craddock said it was a surprise to hear the news of a contract extension and admitted he would be happy just to be a part of it next term.

“Getting another contract’s like a dream for me, I didn’t see that one coming. Who’d have said that at the start of the season? I appreciate it,” he said.

“I’ve had a few niggles but it’s really helped me I haven’t had too many injuries.

“If next year I was a bit-part player, I’d be happy with that and just take it as it comes.”

Craddock netted his fifth goal of the season on Saturday as Wolves drew 2-2 at Aston Villa which gave them a four-point buffer on the relegation zone.
