Wolves confident ex-Arsenal youngster Afobe will stay

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has warned rival clubs they have no need to sell star striker Benik Afobe. The 22-year-old scored 32 goals this term - 19 during a loan spell with Mk Dons and a further 13 after joining Wolves as they just fell short of the Championship play-offs.

Moxey told BBC WM 95.6: "It's a question we don't need to address. We haven't had any offers."

He added: "He signed a three and a half year contract when he came in January and he's very happy here.

"Since being signed by us, he has done well, he wants to improve and play in the Premier League and he has the right platform to do that here.

"It's a question of keeping him happy and locked into what we're trying to do here. I expect him to still be leading the line come August."

"He's a very good individual and a very good team player, but he's got opportunities to play in the Premier League," said head coach Kenny Jackett.

"Sako has been a fine servant to the club," added Moxey. "But who knows?

"Two or three times we could have let him got and made some money on him, but he stayed and stuck to his contract."
