Wolves have clinched the signing of Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson.

The newly-capped Republic of Ireland international has joined Wolves on-loan until the New Year.

"We are taking Darron on loan in time for the Charlton game," Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said today.

"He's a very, very talented and powerful midfield player with a good range of passing. He's only 19 but he's a 19-year-old who plays like a man.

"It will give us real competition in that midfield area now."
