Wolves chiefs are furious with the antics of former captain Roger Johnson.
The Daily Mail says the centre half was among the substitutes for manager Terry Connor's first game at Newcastle and remained on the bench for last Sunday's five-goal thumping at Fulham.
It is alleged that Johnson drowned his sorrows afterwards and turned up for work with the effects of a night out still obvious. He was sent to train with Wolves' development squad.
Once Connor was made aware of the problem he informed chief executive Jez Moxey, who contacted owner Steve Morgan, who intends to impose a heavy fine.
