Wolves chief warns player agents

Wolves chief scout Dave Bowman has issued a warning to agents who see the Molineux club as an easy pay day for their players.

Merseyside-based businessman Steve Morgan is poised to make a £30million investment at Molineux after buying out previous owner Sir Jack Hayward for a nominal £10.

Bowman said: "I have had agents on the phone to me since the takeover announcement thinking we had become Chelsea overnight.

"They seemed to think we had got £30million to spend right now, which is not quite the case.

"That money is an investment to be put into the football club and while it does help in putting a few more players than we might otherwise have had within range, I think we showed last season we are not far off being a bad side anyway.

"I think the blueprint we have followed over the last 12 months has been a success and with two or three quality additions to the squad we can take the next step."
