Wolves are competing with Birmingham City for Newcastle United fullback Shane Ferguson.

The Evening Chronicle says Wolves are keen on the 21-year-old and while a loan bid remains a possibility, the Molineux club may even make a cash bid for his services and push for a permanent move.

Birmingham are keen on extending Ferguson's loan after last season's success.
