Wolves captain Henry still steaming over Barton claims

Wolves captain Karl Henry has taken fresh aim at Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton.

Henry is till smarting over complaints from Barton about his tackling when the two teams met.

"I think Match of the Day's editors got it wrong," Henry told the Daily Mail. "They pieced together me winning the ball off Barton but could have shown three or four of his tackles which weren't that clever. I'd say my last one deserved a yellow. The rest of them were fair. Alan Smith (right) was saying, 'Great stuff,' when I went in to tackle Barton. He'd smash into one of our players and I'd say the same. That banter is rare. But it does happen.

"That was the case with Tim Cahill at Everton the week before. I picked him up a few times, we had a good scrap. He was the same. It was light-hearted. Good banter between players who are totally committed to it.

"With Barton that wasn't the case. He wasn't committed with his tackling. He did a few things during the game that I thought were poor. He pushed Dave Jones into Matt Jarvis at one stage when Jarvo was running with the ball.

"On Football First, the commentator said: 'Oh, Wolves' players are falling into each other'. We weren't. Barton pushed him. He's been a bit sly. I didn't enjoy that."
