Wolves boss still retains support of the fans

After nearly five years in charge, Mick McCarthy claims the supporters are fully behind him despite their difficult season. Some fans had started to succumb to the view he has been with the club too long.

And after a run of eight points from the last four games, his sense of belief has been confirmed.

"There were a few rumblings early on about me, like 'he's taken them as far as he can' and all that rubbish," said McCarthy.

"But I think that's a small percentage and the biggest percentage is happy with the way the club is run from top to bottom.

"They recognise it's a very stable, consistent club and there's a good spirit throughout.

"It's about belief, understanding, and knowing we've got good players."
