Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says he's waiting for the green light from Chelsea to sign defender Michael Mancienne.

"He's Chelsea's player and it's up to Chelsea what they do with him," McCarthy told Sky Sports News.

"Everybody knows I like him, everybody knows I think he's a really good player and he did really well for us.

"We'll see. It's up to Chelsea what they do with their players, not me."

Mancienne has been involved in Chelsea's pre-season campaign and played the first half of a practice match against a QPR XI on Tuesday.
