Wolves boss McCarthy raps boo-boys: Henry remains first-choice

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says midfielder Karl Henry remains a first-choice for him.

Henry has been barracked by Wolves boo-boys this season.

McCarthy said: "It's Karl Henry and ten others who will be playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, don't worry about that.

"I don't have to give him my public support and condemn other people for doing anything. My support is for a guy who has been for five years with me and everything that has been good about my tenure, he has been part of it. And will continue to do so.

"I'm glad his team-mates came out in support of him and so they should. He is terrific at what he does. He doesn't go past people, he isn't the one who scores loads of goals.

"But if you go through every top team there is one solid, consistent performer who lets everyone else do their jiggery-pokery on the ball. That's Karl Henry throughout my five years here. He's the first name on my team-sheet this Sunday.

"And any player at any club who gives his heart and soul like Karl does, should be respected."
