Mick McCarthy says he will continue to use his own judgment on how hard Wolves are working rather than turn to in-depth computer read-outs, reports the Birmingham Mail. Sir Alex Ferguson had clearly looked at the Prozone figures from Wolves' recent White Hart Lane win when he said: "We looked at their performance against Tottenham and the amount of running they had to do."
McCarthy revealed: "I don't go into that detail as I can tell from watching the game how far they've run.
"If I want that stat I can go and get it, but 18 years' experience as a manager tells you.
"Sometimes I might go and get it and say 'well done', but I'm more likely to go and get it and say 'someone hasn't run enough'. If someone's running 12km and someone else is doing eight, there's something sadly wrong.
"You can get the proof you need but mainly you can tell things like that from watching."
