Wolves boss McCarthy: Man City just like Harlem Globetrotters

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has dubbed Manchester City as the new 'Harlem Globetrotters'.

"I thought we played well," said the Wolves boss after their 1-0 defeat.

"How do you set up to play against a team that's gone out and bought the best keeper in the league, arguably over the last few years, in Shay Given?

"Richard Dunne has been a real solid player in the Premier League, they bought an England left-back from Chelsea in Wayne Bridge, Arsenal's centre-half (Kolo Toure), Micah Richards who we know is a good player.

"They've bought Shaun Wright-Phillips back from Chelsea, Gareth Barry - and if there's a better midfield pairing than him and Stephen Ireland then I don't know where.

"One of the best Brazilian players (Robinho), one of the best Arsenal strikers (Adebayor), one of the best Manchester United strikers (Carlos Tevez), the best West Ham striker in Craig Bellamy.

"How are we expected to play against that in all honesty? It's like playing against the Harlem Globetrotters when I used to watch them as a kid.

"All we can do is go out and at times stifle them, try and play our football, have a go at them and give 100% - and that's just what we did."
