Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says skipper Karl Henry deserves to be forgiven for his recent red card - after all, just look at Diego Maradona!
Henry's return was crucial in Wolves' victory over Manchester City.
McCarthy told the club's website: "He came for a trial when we played Aston Villa in my first game at Molineux, a friendly.
"After 15 minutes I said he's not going anywhere and we were going to keep him.
"And he's been really important for us ever since. He's been a really good player and a good captain.
"I felt really sorry for him because it was just one bad tackle.
"Karl Henry epitomizes a really good professional, a top class professional and a very good footballer.
"He made a mistake, nothing more, he's not dirty.
"I noticed English Sky Sports went out to interview Diego Maradona on his 50th birthday - and he put the ball in the back of the net with his hand and knocked England out of the World Cup finals.
"Everyone's forgiven him, but poor old Karl had to take all that for one mistake!"
