Wolves boss McCarthy happy for players to visit shrink

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy isn't against his players consulting with a sports psychologist.

Wanderers have thrown away points against United, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Fulham.

And Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park's last-minute effort in a 2-1 loss on Saturday left McCarthy in a rage on the touchline.

The Molineux chief said: "All the psychologists in Yellow Pages will be offering me their help - but I don't want them ringing me, telling me they can make us better."

Wolves do have a sports therapist and McCarthy revealed he saw a club shrink as a player at Lyon.

The former Republic of Ireland defender added: "I was 30 with 400 league appearances, captain of my country, been to a World Cup - but I said I'd go for a chat.

"I came out with my arm round him, telling him 'Don't worry mate, it'll be fine, keep yer chin up'. He was the one on the couch."
