Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has hailed the attitude of defender Stephen Ward.
The Irishman gave away the equalising penalty in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham after lunging Alan Hutton and then saw his pass incepted for the second goal.
But McCarthy said: "Ward has been brilliant. He made a mistake. We watched the second-half and he put his hand up, saying 'my fault.' I said 'it's alright, but don't do it again.'
"I told him 'hold on, there are a lot of other players at fault before it got to you and you just compounded any other errors by bringing him down.'
"We actually got dislodged further up the field - Alan Hutton shouldn't have been allowed to run so far.
"I've been in the same position as a defender, you come across and you get sucked into the tackle.
"But that response was typical of 'Wardy,' it was a genuine mistake as he tried to win the ball.
"You learn all the time, but I don't learn anything about him, he's a top pro who's outstanding.
"He's brutally honest about himself and everyone else - he's great."
