Wolves boss McCarthy finds Hunt, Mouyokolo bonuses in Cup defeat

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy found bonuses in their Carling Cup defeat at Manchester United.

There was a senior debut for defender Steven Mouyokolo, and a first 90 minutes for Stephen Hunt, and the two summer signings both caught the eye in another promising all-round team performance despite the eventual result.

"I was delighted Hunty got 90 minutes," McCarthy told the Wolves website.

"He's getting his fitness back but it all doesn't just come together after a game-and-a-half. It was a good performance from him and I was delighted.

"He's got remarkable levels of fitness considering he's been out for so long.

"And Steven did well. He's another one who's not had a game as competitive as that but he's got plenty to offer.

"All the lads played well last night and they had to do to produce a level of performance at Old Trafford."
