Wolves boss McCarthy: Fans back on board

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy feels the supporters are now fully back on side after some dissent towards the manager and players earlier this season.

One game in particular where the Molineux faithful were negatively vocal was the match against Swansea City on October 22 where Wolves came from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw. When the scoreline was 2-0 the fans were rampant on McCarthy and his charges but after they came from behind to defeat Sunderland 2-1 yesterday, the gaffer feels that everyone is now full of support.

"What was lovely was that the fans seemed to be delighted for me and for the players," said McCarthy.

"There wasn't a dissenting voice in the place, even at 1-0 down, they stuck with me and the players and were all genuinely delighted.

"And none more so than up in the directors box because they all want me to be a success here.

"The fans deserve a huge pat on the back because the atmosphere was amazing."
