Wolves boss McCarthy eager to close McFadden deal

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy hopes to wrap up a deal for free agent James McFadden.

McCarthy is aware of interest from elsewhere in the player, whose deal at Birmingham City expired at the end of last season, but revealed nothing has yet been agreed.

He told the Wolverhampton Express and Star: "We will have a discussion with his agent.

"I am sure there is other interest - there's never been a player yet where there's only been one club in for him.

"But nothing is happening as yet. He's training fine and we will just see what happens."
