Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is delighted with his capture of Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne on-loan.

After victory at Cardiff City, McCarthy enthused: "I twice tried to get Michael but each time he went to QPR.

"It was only when Chelsea got Ricardo Carvalho back from injury that they agreed to the move this time.

"Mancienne was terrific. He's battered and bruised after our keeper Carl Ikeme ran into him but he already knows what this league is all about."
