Marcus Hahnemann could figure for the USA at this year's World Cup according to his club boss.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy believes the 37-year olds form since taking the number one position at the Molineux warrants a look-in at selection for Bob Bradley's squad for the tournament in South Africa.
"If Marcus is playing in my team then he's giving himself a chance for the World Cup because, whatever else goes on with him, he really has been excellent," McCarthy said.
"He's playing in the Premier League and, if he continues to do so, it would be great for him to be selected. Marcus also isn't one of those who will retire. Someone will have to tell him.
"I admire him for that and if he gets in the squad, then great, but he's up against some good goalkeepers."
Hahnemann faces stiff competition from Everton's Tim Howard who is currently the USA's first choice and Aston Villa shot-stopper Brad Guzan who has come on in leaps and bounds this season.
