Wolves boss McCarthy backing Hodgson for Manager of Year

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says Roy Hodgson deserves Manager of the Year for his work with Fulham this season.

McCarthy believes Hodgson has to be a candidate for the League Managers' Association award at the end of the season.

McCarthy said: "Roy's done a great job. We were both in Australia last summer during pre-season and you look at the number of games Fulham have played since then.

"Roy has to be in contention but then so has Alex McLeish at Birmingham.

"Fulham have got some good players like Damien Duff, Zoltan Gera and Danny Murphy - and Roy gets the best out of them."
