Wolves boss Jackett waiting for West Brom Sako offer

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett insists no offer from West Bromwich Albion has arrived for Bakary Sako.

Jackett insists Hawthorns officials have yet to make their move for the 26-year-old wide man, who is currently away with Mali at the African Cup of Nations.

The Wolves chief told the Express & Star: "We've had no bid. Nothing at all. There's almost every press conference, people ask about him and it does seem as if there's some rumour.

"But from our point of view we haven't had a bid. There's nothing there that all. Whether that's pre-empting something to come is another thing but up to now there's been no contact.

"We've promised him, from the start of my time in League One, that if there was a Premier League club and they matched the valuation and the board of directors were happy, then we would talk to him.

"That's always been the case and through that transparency we've got the best out of him because, obviously, Premier League opportunities are what a player wants but, only after there's a valuation met.

"That's been the case for the last 18 months. With every window, there's been a lot of speculation definitely.

"We've always said we'd talk to him if a Premier League club came in with the right bid.

"From my point of view and everyone here we wouldn't want that. It's not something we are inviting."
